Emmanuel Morgan
Nigerian artist Emmanuel Morgan approached me about displaying some of his
paintings on my website in mid-November, 2002. In our long-distance dialogue we
became friends and we now communicate regularly. He sent me the four paintings
below and I was pleasantly surprised by their imaginativeness and creativity.
They are similar to the type of paintings found in East Africa, but with bold,
confident, and colorful strokes of the brush.
Morgan Emmanuel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine/Applied
Arts of the University of Benin, Nigeria specializing in Fine Arts. Currently, he is a practicing
studio artist based in Nigeria. Many of his paintings can be found in notable art galleries in Europe and far Asia. He
prefers and enjoys the landscape impression impasto approach together with traditional African Masks and designs.

This is a typical traditional
setting though with impressionism approach rendered in impasto and oil
medium. It is the current selling marketing trend here in Africa as most
people are getting bored with Landscape realism hence the demand for
African traditional impressionism is high. |
